Dr. Kelly Anne Senglar-Vitale is a highly trained Physical Therapist who has completed numerous years of study and numerous hours of continuing education in the field of Physical Therapy. She attended Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy degree, in 2000. Kelly then went on to complete her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from A.T. Still University, Arizona School of Health Sciences in Mesa, Arizona in 2005. She successfully completed the McKenzie Certification in 2005 and the Mulligan Practitioner Certification in 2007 under the direct instruction of Brian Mulligan himself. From 2010 to 2013, she attended the Ola Grimsby Institute in San Diego, California. Over this time Kelly successfully completed the Certification in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy, a Residency in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy with Doctorate of Manual Therapy Degree (pending research completion) and a Fellowship in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy. In 2008, she became a Certified Vestibular Therapist through the AIB, allowing her the expertise and skill to successfully treat vertigo, dizziness and balance disorders. Since 2000, Kelly has also completed hundreds of continuing education hours in areas of Manual Therapy, taping, sports injuries, advanced clinical problem solving, medical screening, and many others. In 2014, Kelly was granted Fellowship status with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists. Dr. Senglar-Vitale became trained and certified in Dry Needling in 2015 and has since studied two other Dry Needling methods and philosophies in order to strengthen her practice. More recently, Kelly completed the C-STEP certification through the Ola Grimsby Institute in 2017 and is set to begin her PhD in Physical Therapy in early 2018.
Dr. Senglar-Vitale is Adjunct faculty at Campbell University and teaches the second and third year DPT students primarily in the Clinical Reasoning, Musculoskeletal and Advanced Musculoskeletal classes. Kelly has also lectured at East Carolina University, in the 3rd year Doctoral Physical Therapy Program. She sat on the Advisory Board for the Nash Community College Physical Therapist Assistant Program from 2007 - 2014. She works with DPT students from many DPT programs throughout the state and country. Kelly also oversees and trains students from Residency and Fellowship Programs from across the country. Kelly just recently joined on as staff and instructor for the OGI and is excited to begin teaching on a national and international platform.
Kelly has had great success with treating many conditions including headaches, jaw pain, back pain, sciatica, neck pain, arthritis, chronic pain and many others. She has developed "Pain in Pregnancy" and "Return to Sports" programs. She worked in the Rocky Mount Area for over seven years where she has developed a great reputation with her patients and referral sources prior to entering the Wilson area in 2013, when she opened Manual Physical Therapy, Inc. One year later, MPTI opened in Rocky Mount and in 2017, MPTI completed its expansion with the addition of the Wellness Program and Aquatic Center, making Kelly's vision complete. Dr. Senglar-Vitale looks forward to being able to offer those in the Wilson and Rocky Mount areas, highly skilled Physical Therapy services with individualized one-on-one care with the Physical Therapist at each and every visit.
